The show started off with Nilka being pissed off at her team. That carried over to the challenge; she took all of the good ingredients and wouldn’t work with her team. They had 20 ingredients and needed to make 3 separate dishes without using any of the ingredients more than once. Of course, if you watched the show close enough, a few ingredients were used more than once. What’s that all about? On the Blue team, both Ben and Jason used potatoes. The Red team, well Nilka took all of the good ingredients and left the scraps for the rest of her team. There was a scene where she told Scott that she had the potatoes, so don’t bother using them. But the dish that Scott prepared was a potato soup! Did the producers really think we wouldn’t catch that?
The difference in teams is very apparent. The Blue team gets along well and they work together in the kitchen. With the Red team, every dinner service is torture – everyone’s yelling at each other and each is quick to blame the other. Slowly but surely, the Red team is being eliminated! They were so bad, that Chef Ramsay kicked the whole team out of the kitchen and Scott and Andi helped him finish the service. After dinner service, back in the dorm, Scott just ran his mouth on and on about who should be sent home. He didn’t do so hot himself but he didn’t really own up to it. He thought that by having the most “fine dining” experience that he was somehow better than everyone. I initially thought that he would make it pretty far in the competition, but listening to him was getting to be unbearable. He views himself as being this great chef, but he messes up just as much as most of the other chefs. Working dinner service with him must be rough – he’s always in everyone’s face! When it came down to elimination, he was put up against Fran and Siobahn – Scott was chosen by Chef Ramsay to leave Hell’s Kitchen. He went so far as to tell Chef Ramsay that the Red team will die without him. WHAT! C’mon man, are you serious? You’re not that good.
Chef Ramsay then put Ben on the Red team; the leadership he showed on the Blue team really impressed Chef Ramsay. Let’s hope it can continue. He hasn’t made too many mistakes in the kitchen. Depending on how things go with the Red team, he may last a while.
